I had a really cool drive home tonight from Adams house where we were watching the Super Bowl. I was driving on some back roads in some of the most intense fog I have ever driven in. I would cruise over a hill and barely be able to see 100 feet in front of me. And the more I thought about it the more of a God thing it really was. We are going through life and they are many things that are easy to see and understand. Then things may get rough and things a get a little more cloudy. While those truths about God and life, are still there, you may be going though a time when you are really have trouble believing them. The roads I was driving on I have driven hundreds of times. I know where the turns and hills are and the lay of the land. Yet there where times tonight coming home when it was really hard to know what was coming next. I had to rely on what I had learned in the past. I knew that there were turns coming up......but not because i could see them, but because i had been there in the light and they had been "reveled" to me. All of us will have those moments in the light when things will just be clear and it will be an easy drive, but we will also face those times when morals seem obsolete. When things aren't seeming to work together for your good, and you cant see as well. It would be foolish for me to drive home in dense fog and rely only on my sight when I have a strong memory of the roads. Yet why is it when life gets hard we can never remember what it was like in the light. We can never remember how loving and true that Gods road is. We forget that God showed us His grace and forgiveness on that curvy part before.
Drive the road, whether clear or fog, by faith.
